Strawberry Apple Fruit Leather

I found this recipe just after we made the Crockpot Apple Sauce last month and thought, although I was having trouble keeping the applesauce around as it mysteriously disappeared from the fridge, I could use it in this healthy recipe. Add some strawberries to the yummy apple sauce and dehydrate it in the oven. The fruit leather is easy to take on the go and easy to store. This healthy, no sugar recipe was adapted from

  • 1 cup apple sauce
  • 1 1/42 cup chopped Strawberries
  1. Preheat oven to 170 degrees F.
  2. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Place strawberries and apple sauce in the blender and blend till smooth.
  4. Pour thin layer of sauce onto each parchment paper lined sheet and smooth close to the edges so that its level and even and as thin as possible without being transparent.
  5. Bake for 3-4 hours, turning the baking sheets half way through.
  6. The leather is ready when its sticky to the touch but not gooey.
  7. Remove from oven and cut into strips.
  8. To eat, peel from the paper backing and enjoy!
Tips: Roll up the strips and keep in an airtight container in the fridge.
