Phone Holder – 2 ways

For our Back-to-School issue we chose a craft that will help when you set your alarm to get up to go to school. That’s right, no more lazy summer sleep ins 🙁 Find a empty toilet paper roll and some fancy duct tape and you can make a cool device holder that will make it easier to find your device and will hold it up so you can see your alarm in the morning. This craft was inspired by two different Pinterest posts.

You will need:

  • Empty toilet paper roll
  • decorative Duct tape
  • 4 thumb tacks
  • pencil
  • scissors
  • Your device
Option 1:

  1. trace a line around your device in the middle of the toilet paper roll.
  2. Using scissors, cut out the traced line.
  3. Wrap your roll in desired duct tape.
  4. Using Scissors, cut the tape out of the same hole.
  5. Push pins into opposite side of the roll in a “table leg” pattern, so that they stop the holder from rolling when your device is in it. You may have to re-position the pins a few time to get this right.
  6. Optionally, you can thread your charger through the side opening and into the device so you can charge while its on your holder.

Option 2:

  1. Slightly flatten your toilet roll.
  2. Starting from the right side, draw a line half way across the width of the roll approximately 1/3 – 1/2 way up the roll.
  3. Next draw a line from where you stopped that line (in the middle of the roll) to the top right corner.
  4. Cut along this line while the roll is flattened so you cut both sides.
  5. Draw two short lines down from where the vertical and horizontal lines meet approx 1/4 inch apart.
  6. cut along these two lines while roll is flat so you cut both sides.
  7. Fold down the flaps you just created.
  8. Cover your roll with decorative duct tape using scissors to cut tape where needed.
  9. Optionally, cut a square out of the bottom back of your holder so you can thread your charger through the opening and into the device so you can charge while its on your holder.
