About the Book
Average GBC reader rating

Fifteen-year-old Eragon believes that he is merely a poor farm boy—until his destiny as a Dragon Rider is revealed. Gifted with only an ancient sword, a loyal dragon, and sage advice from an old storyteller, Eragon is soon swept into a dangerous tapestry of magic, glory, and power. Now his choices could save—or destroy—the Empire.

GBC Review by Sofia S.

Hey GGC! Happy New Year to all and here is a new book to help with your resolution to read more! Eragon by Christopher Paolini is a great book about dragons and magic and all things wonderful. Eragon is a young boy in an alternate universe who stumbles upon a dragon egg. In a world where dragons are either dead or in hiding due to a corrupt human king, Eragon sets out to find refuge from the king’s soldiers. This a great book and please don’t be put off by the number of pages! I would recommend this series for anyone over the age of eight.

Happy Reading!
