Crock Pot Apple Sauce

It’s apple season again, and we just picked a boat load of apples, and although we love eating them in our lunch, we have lots of little apples left over. So we decided to make apple sauce and its sooooo easy. A crock pot is also called a slow cooker but Crock Pot Apple Sauce reminds me of Criss Cross Apple Sauce hee hee 😛 Just cut the apples off the core, throw them in the crock pot and leave them for a few hours. And the best part… No peeling required!! This recipe was adapted from ArtAndTheKitchen.com

INGREDIENTS
  • 10-15 small apples (we used Macintosh)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Wash apples and cut off of cores. (This leaves a square core)
  2. Place apples in crock pot.
  3. Add water to pot.
  4. Sprinkle cinnamon over apples. (optional).
  5. Cook on low setting for 4 hours, stirring about half way.
  6. Mash down with a potato masher.
  7. Press cooked apple mixture through a large hole strainer to remove skins.
  8. Serve warm or chilled.
Tips: Store in jars in refrigerator for 4-5 days. To keep longer store in freezer bags in the freezer.
