Banana Bread

Banana Bread SliceThe key to a great banana bread is rotten bananas. I am not messing with you. Whenever we have black bananas in my house we don’t throw them out, we make banana bread! Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure my girls leave the last 4 bananas purposefully so I will make it. This recipe is far from healthy, but it tastes so good ūüėČ Here is how you can put those rotting banana’s to good use.

  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 4 bananas (mashed)
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Get help with the oven from a parent if needed.
  2. In a large bowl, combine Butter and Sugar
  3. Add Eggs 1 at a time.
  4. Mix in Vanilla and mashed Bananas
  5. In a small bowl combine Flour, Baking Powder, Salt and Baking Soda.
  6. Pour into Banana mixture and mix well.
  7. Pour mixture into greased bread pan or into cupcake tin.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour for bread or 20-25 min for muffins. Or until knife pulls out clean.
  9. Serve warm.
NOTES: Keep in air tight container.
