4 Strand Knot Braid

knot braid0This hairstyle requires help from your hair model but it is fairly simple to do. If you can tie an knot you can create this style. I love how it’s easier than a braid but the finished look is so different from a regular braid that it will look like you spent more time on it than you did. We did it with wet hair for a sleek look and also with dry hair for a grander messier look. Either way it’s perfect for Prom hair!

  • 2 clear elastics
  • Brush

Directions:

  1. Brush hair back from face and take a section of hair at the crown.
  2. Divide section into two pieces and knot hair once by crossing the right section over the left and looping under. Pull tight.
  3. Have the person who’s hair you are doing hold the two sections.
  4. Separate another section of hair from hairline straight back and again divide into two pieces.
  5. Knot hair once by crossing the right section over the left and looping under. Pull tight.
  6. Have your helper also hold the two sections. They will now be holding 4 sections.
  7. Separate another section of hair from hairline straight back and again divide into two pieces.
  8. Take back the front two sections under the second sections of hair and combine into each of the pieces.
  9. Knot hair once by crossing the right section over the left and looping under. Pull tight.
  10. Continue steps 7-9 until all hair is knotted.
  11. Combine the last 4 sections of hair at the neck and secure with an elastic.
  12. Wrap a small section of hair 2 times around the elastic and secure with another small elastic at the bottom of the wrap.
